Steve Poe - N
A superdetailed 23x8 foot, N scale, 1950 Union Pacific plus Nn3 logging and mining lines though the Rockies. Thee are many scratch-built steam and diesel locos from 4-12-2 to 4-4-0 Camel-back (also a unique 0-2-2-0). Locos start from an 18 stall roundhouse, 48 track turntable (more than full) and pass though yard and car facilities, including a 19 car ice house, before climbing into the mountains.
A 550 foot trestle passes though some of the high rock walls made from latex molds of 2x2 foot blocks of coal, and passes a 130 foot waterfall. A 445x100 foot scale model of the resurrection Gold Ore Mill, once in Leadville Colorado, crowns one ridgeline. The superintendant is a geologist and it shows in the scenery! He also has more than just a touch of whimsey and it shows in the modeling.
